1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device to remember information about you between visits. In addition to cookies, modern web applications also use related browser storage mechanisms:localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB: which serve similar purposes but live in the browser rather than being sent back to a server with every request. This policy covers all of these technologies and refers to them collectively as "cookies" for simplicity.
2. Our approach
Artelier Business is operated by Artgence, based in Paris, France. We use the minimum number of cookies necessary to run the Service. We group them into three categories:
- Strictly Necessary: required for login, security, and core functionality. The Service cannot work without these.
- Functional: remember your preferences and improve your experience. These are set only after you accept via the cookie banner.
- Advertising measurement: tell us whether our ads on Google and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) lead to visits, sign-ups and subscriptions. These load only after you accept via the cookie banner. If you decline, nothing is loaded from Google or Meta.
We do not sell your data and do not share it with data brokers.
3. Strictly Necessary
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They are set automatically and cannot be disabled without breaking login or core features.
Base44 platform session and authentication tokens
- Type: HTTP cookies and localStorage entries
- Purpose: Keep you signed in, maintain session state, and protect against cross-site request forgery
- Duration: Session-based and short-lived refresh tokens (typically up to 30 days)
- Set by: Base44 platform (our infrastructure provider)
artelier_cookie_consent
- Type: localStorage
- Purpose: Records whether you accepted or declined the cookie banner so we don't show it again on every visit
- Duration: 1 year
- Set by: Artgence
4. Functional
These are set only after you accept the cookie banner. They remember preferences and improve your experience but are not required for the Service to function.
artelier_lang
- Type: localStorage
- Purpose: Remembers your language preference (English, French, or Spanish)
- Duration: Until cleared by you or your browser
- Set by: Artgence
artelier_ref_code
- Type: localStorage
- Purpose: Temporarily stores a referral code from a referral link (?ref=…) so we can credit the referrer when you sign up
- Duration: Cleared up to 24 hours after sign-up completes
- Set by: Artgence
artelier.newsletterPopup, artelier.siteSince, artelier.newsletterPopupShown
- Type: localStorage (the first) and sessionStorage (the other two)
- Purpose: On a computer, the newsletter invitation can appear once when you are about to leave the site. These remember that you already subscribed or chose "Not now" (so it does not come back for 30 days), when your visit began, and that it was already shown during this visit. They hold no e-mail address and nothing about you. If you decline cookies, nothing is written and the invitation still appears at most once per visit.
- Duration: 30 days after "Not now"; the sessionStorage entries are cleared when you close the tab
- Set by: Artgence
artelier_tab_history
- Type: sessionStorage
- Purpose: Remembers the last tab you visited within a multi-tab page so the back button behaves naturally
- Duration: Cleared automatically when you close the browser tab
- Set by: Artgence
Offline data cache
- Type: IndexedDB and localStorage
- Purpose: Stores a local copy of your artwork inventory and key records so you can keep working when you lose internet connection
- Duration: Cleared when you log out or delete your account
- Set by: Artgence
4b. Advertising measurement
Set only after you accept the cookie banner. Declining, or never answering, means none of these load.
Meta Pixel (_fbp and related cookies)
- Type: HTTP cookies and a script loaded from connect.facebook.net
- Purpose: Measures whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to page views, sign-ups, price estimates, enquiries and subscriptions, and lets us show our ads to people who visited the site
- Duration: Up to 90 days
- Set by: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (see Meta's Privacy Policy)
Google Ads conversion tag (_gcl_au and related cookies)
- Type: HTTP cookies and a script loaded from googletagmanager.com, under Google Consent Mode (denied until you accept)
- Purpose: Measures whether our Google ads lead to sign-ups, price estimates, enquiries and subscriptions
- Duration: Up to 90 days
- Set by: Google Ireland Ltd.
5. Legal basis
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Strictly Necessary cookies are placed on the basis of contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We need them to deliver the Service you signed up for, and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the narrow purpose of session security.
- Functional and advertising measurement cookies are placed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), captured through the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.
6. Third-party tracking: what we use and what we don't
The only third-party advertising technologies on Artelier Business are the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads conversion tag described in section 4b, and both run only with your consent. We do not use Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or fingerprinting scripts. We do not sell or rent your browsing behaviour to anyone. Signed documents pages (/sign/…) never load any advertising tag.
7. How to manage cookies
You can manage and delete cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data
Please note: if you block or delete Strictly Necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in to Artelier Business and core features will stop working. You can also re-trigger the cookie banner by clearing the artelier_cookie_consent entry from your browser's localStorage for this site.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active users by email or through an in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect.
